The Samuel Johnson Project is a multi media arts programme develop to celebrate the Tercentenary of Dr Samuel Johnsons birth in Lichfield in 2009. The Project is based around the creation of three monumental sculptural artworks by sculptor Peter Walker.Samuel Johnson is one of Britains greatest literary figures and as such is the perfect catalyst for colaborative project and the development of sonic art, painting, poetry and sculptural work. The Tercentenary will bring much attention to Lichfield and to the life and work of Johnsons and therefore the project will respond creatively to this.
